Job description
Perform technical tasks assigned by the Lead Electrical Engineer, related with design, testing activities.
Interface with other Project Leaders, Specia lists, Designers and Vendors Specialist.
Coordinate technical activities performed inside or the Company.
Coordinate and interface between the different groups / disciplines involved.
Performing all the engineering tasks related to the design phases (Conceptual, Feasi bility Studies, Basic, Feed and Detail Design) such as :
Maintaining project technical files and update Company standards.
Preparing project design criteria for electric system.
Defining the confi gu ration of the electrical system and prepares the single line diagrams.
Performing electric system models & calcu la tions and defines ratings of equipment / systems (power demand, load flow, short circuits, transient stability, motor starting, harmonics, grounding).
Performing, checking and reviewing of relay and metering schemes, protective relays coordi nation study and setting tables.
Defining the functional philo so phies for the electrical system control (load control, synchro niz ation, load shedding, reacce le ration and restarting).
Preparing technical documen tation (speci fi cation, data sheets and inspection data sheets) for electrical equipment and material.
Preparing, checking and reviewing of the Material Requi sition (PR) and prepares the technical evaluations.
Providing technical support to procu rement department in purchasing activities.
Performing the follow up of electrical equipment supply and check / review of Vendors technical documentation.
Providing support to expediting and testing activities.
Preparing, checking and reviewing of electric system plot plans and main cable / tray routings.
Performing power cable / transformer sizing.
Preparing, checking and reviewing of electric substation layout arrangement.
Preparing, checking and reviewing of inter con necting wiring diagrams.
Preparing, checking and reviewing of electrical cable lay down documentation.
Preparing, checking and reviewing of electrical network layout documen tation (grounding, lighting, cathode protection, electric tracing, connection boxes).
Defining electrical network (grounding, lighting, cathode protection, electric tracing, connection boxes) materials selection and typical instal lation details.
Performing, checking and reviewing of electrical material take-off (MTO).
Performing, checking and reviewing of technical speci fi cation for electric systems installation.
Performing, checking and reviewing of input data for the feedback dossier.
Supporting Electrical Super in tendent and Field Electrical Engineer for modifi cation definition.
Parti ci pating to functional checks and tests for electrical system energiz ation and commissioning.
Assisting when necessary, engineering adjus tment on site.
Reviewing the detailed design of projects for technical accuracy, compliance, comple teness and feasi bility of governing codes and requirements.
Qualification
Awareness of Company’s Quality Policy
Super vision prepa ration and hands-on experience in Electrical and Cathodic Protection engineering documen tation (speci fi ca tions, philo so phies, equipment data sheets, MTOs, BOQs, etc.).
Relevant skills include Electrical Power Generation System, Power Distri bution (Switchgear HV & LV, Trans formers, Motors, VSD, Battery Charger, UPS, and Overhead Lines up to 110 kV), Power Management System, Cathodic Protection System, Earthing & Lightening System, Lighting System, and HVAC System.
Experience in selection and integration of electric equipment for Hazardous areas (according to RK-PUE and IEC / NFPA standards).
Sound knowledge of confi gu ration issues, connec tivity between systems, the requi re ments of safety related systems.
Experience in major Onshore or Offshore Oil & Gas Projects, or for Major Oil Company or EPC Contractors.
Knowledge of relevant IEC, API, BS, ASHRAE, ISO, GOST, SNiP and PUE.
Must have sound knowledge and under standing of technical terms and conditions.
Ability to identify changes and impro ve ments to the technical documen tation and proce dures to reflect Client’s changing requirements.
Knowledge of computer based systems including, CAD, Database Management systems, Excel, Word, Microsoft Office or equivalent software packages.
Be proactive, a self-starter and ability to work without supervision.
Syste matic thinker and good organiz a tional skills / time management.
Strong perso nality with ability to be firm and persuasive without authority.
Team player within and across functions.
Sensitive to Client’s requi re ments and Client-focused.
Advanced AutoCAD, Micro station, Smart Plant 3D, Smart Plant Electrical, Dialux, TraceCalc user.
Knowledge of specia lized calcu la tions (as ETAP software) programs is a must.
Experience in accordance with the requi re ments of electrical regula tions and standards (Electrical Instal lation Code, safety proce dures, SN RK, etc.).
Education : Bachelor degree in engineering is minimum requirement
Master degree preferred
Language skills : Kazakh and Russian are mandatory.
English is advantageous
Profes sional experience : Min 10 years
