Overview / Responsibilities
Wood (trading locally as WOOD KSS JSC) is currently recruiting for a Lead Pipeline Engineer - Expression of Interest with extensive experience in the oil and gas petrochemical industry (KZ passport holders).
Responsibilities :
Direct and supervise a team of relevant discipline engineers
Responsible for the study, design, and construct pipe systems for transporting a variety of substances such as gas and oil;
Meeting with clients to define pipeline requirements
Conducting site surveys and research to determine pipeline specifications and placement as well as pump sizes
Preparing and presenting technical materials such as cost estimates, pipeline layouts, and flow simulations
Calculating project requirements such as materials, budget, and time
Creating and developing digital designs such as pipeline maps, blueprints, and mechanical diagrams
verseeing the construction and installation process of pipeline infrastructure and systems
Responsible for providing expertise and ensures the application of correct standards in all FEED / EPC deliverables in the design and development of projects associated with Oil and Gas processing, production and export
Supervise the work of relevant discipline Engineers and Superintendents and ensure that quality and standards are maintained, and cost-effective solutions are adopted
Fully understands the COMPANY HSE policy, procedures, regulations and objectives as they relate to his area of responsibility
Ensures that work under his control is performed in a safe and environmentally sound manner
Review any design work carried out by third parties (vendors) and participate in some instances, lead HAZOP, HAZID, IPF, reliability studies, and Safety and Facilities Technical Audits
Establish the actual (as opposed to design) capacities / capabilities of existing field facilities to identify potential bottlenecks and scope for optimization
Identify potential applications for new technology
Develop actively the local staff to fulfill engineers and managing role
Know the environmental aspects (ISO14001) of oil and gas design
Know the safety aspects of design in relation to the project cycle (, HAZOP, HAZAN, IPF classification methodology and implementation, reliability studies, Fire and Gas mapping and risk analysis techniques)
Conduct life cycle cost analysis
Prepare RFQ (request for quotation) technical packages for pipelines related scopes
Prepare engineering, construction and material estimation, schedule, resource planning and update resource capacity planning half-yearly
Provide first class engineering in one or more of the following fields; risers, subsea pipelines, landfalls, subsea manifolds, piping design and onshore / subsea pipeline
Be familiar with working with construction engineers and installation schemes
Skills / Qualifications
Higher (technical) education
Work experience in the respective position no less than 5 years
Proficient user of relevant software and calculation templates
Professional level of ability in the application of standards, processes and procedures and how they are used in work execution;
Professional level of knowledge of applicable codes and standards
Technically competent in own discipline, pursues continuous professional development of skills and knowledge according to standards
Keeping up to date with the latest advancements in design software, technical standards, and construction technique
Advanced level of written / spoken English
