Airswift are currently working with our operator client to recruit a PTW Specialist to work in Kazakhstan on a major project.

The role will be rotational and will be on contract for a minimum of 12 months.

Responsibilities -

The primary responsibility for this position is to manage the coordination and control of work activities through the PTW & Isolation processes / procedures across Systems or Areas transitioned through Systems Completions for Project.

Integrate fully, construction activities and system completion with production operations base business work activities.

The PTW Specialist will supervise and mentor positions created to support the Project PTW and SIMOPS work processes at Project Permit Offices.

This position will be a primary liaison between Project Construction, System Completions, Production Operations and HES work groups for identifying and communicating PTW and SIMOPS issues aligning with SI-105 requirements to control work and provide safe work environments for personnel.

Job activities -

  • Carry out the role of Permit Approver’ across Discipline / Geographically.
  • Capable of Technical Review & Input to PTW addressing potential coordination & conflict.
  • Knowledge of Systems and System Completions process.
  • Ensure procedures and processes are clearly communicated to all work groups.
  • Coach and mentor PTW staff to ensure a consistent application of the process is applied.
  • Establish strong alliance and interface with Project Construction, System Completion, Operations & HES Team as a primary focal contact for PTW.
  • Review PTW applications and ensure there is enough detail / supporting doc’s to accurately identify potential SIMOPS work activities.
  • Understands the safety instruction requirements of a Planning Phase Hazard Analysis (PPHA) and Job Safety Analysis (JSA).
  • Understands PTW safety instruction philosophy of work activity categorization and can assist work groups with PTW preparations.
  • Capable of delivering process orientation and awareness to users.
  • Participates in daily coordination meeting as a key attendee.
  • Assigns and directs PTW supporting roles.
  • Oversees the effective control and management PTW Isolation (LoTo).
  • Monitoring PTW application across areas of responsibility.
  • Understands ROK requirements for archiving of complete and / or expired PTW and SIMOPS documents.
  • Provides support to and actively participates in Behavior Based Safety (BBS) and IIF Programs
  • Participates in Safety Meetings.
  • In his / her activities is guided by :

  • Client policies and procedures.
  • Project specific policies and procedures.
  • Operating procedure requirements.
  • Client and Project Safety Instructions.
  • Client Integrated Incident Response Plan (IIRP).
  • Fire and gas safety rules.
  • Regulatory documents on labor and environmental protection.
  • Requirements -

  • Must be familiar with :
  • Knowledge of oil processing facilities and equipment operations, work practices, and operating procedures.
  • Technically, Well versed in job functions and the roles and responsibilities of co-workers.
  • Knowledgeable in all Client Safety Instructions and the Client Integrated Incident Response Plan (IIRP).
  • Knowledgeable in activity planning and scheduling.
  • Good reading and understanding skills of engineering documents such as construction drawings, P&ID, Schedules, Plot Plans and Maps.
  • Safety management Isolation (Design & Effective Control).

  • Must have the skills to (completed by HR, depending on competency requirements for the job) :
  • Communicate effectively and interact with individuals at all levels.
  • Technical competence in all matters relating to Safe System of Work & PTW.
  • Plan, assess, organize and ensure quality and timely completion of the work.
  • Identify the key task objective, assess task importance, summarize appropriately.
  • Select and implement the best alternative solution.
  • Encourage initiative and exercise creative attitude to work.
  • Act on his / her own initiative.
  • Strive for continuous improvement.
  • Analyze subordinates’ needs and assist in developing specific skills.
  • Establish and maintain good working environment within the group.
  • Ensure that team members understand their personal and collective responsibility for quality completion of the assigned job tasks.
  • Express ideas and communicate them to the subordinates and management both verbally and in writing.
  • Get on well with different types of individuals.
  • Must have 5 years experience in similar role in O&G industry with a background in trade / ops.
