JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Develop, deliver and assess mining equipment operator training to Mining Operations customers in classroom, simulator and field conditions.
  • Coach mine trainers in training systems, training package development and delivery, and other mine training elements such as Train the Trainer .
  • Monitor with relevant Mine Production Foremen and Mine Operations Trainers the ongoing operational performance of employees.
  • Provide feedback and improvement recommendations to stakeholders with regards to the operational environment.
  • Maintain training database for personnel records, assessments, plans, schedules and instruction manuals.
  • Coordinate on and off site training needs based on regular gap analysis or operational requirements.
  • Develop with accountable Mine Production Foremen career progression matrices and targets for operators.
  • Develop performance plans for Mine Operations Trainers and ensure performance management is a cornerstone of the work groups’ success.
  • Ensure that work undertaken is performed safely and in accordance with KAZ Minerals Standards and that applicable safety processes are embedded in all training and assessment activities.
  • Ensure training, assessment plans and resources incorporate current standard work procedures.
  • Assist with development, revision and standardization of training materials and assessment tools.
  • Adhere to standardized assessment and training procedures.
  • Apply team membership principle in approach to work.
  • Develop and maintain effective communications with management and peers.
  • Demonstrate and reinforce behaviors with trainees that are consistent with the company values and work methods.
  • Coach a continuous improvement culture within the Training and Mine Operations team.
  • Support and encourage positive relationships between Training, customers and suppliers.
  • Contribute to training needs analyses as required.
  • Schedule training and assessment activities of Trainers across all shifts within operations.
  • Ensure all training and assessment is supported by current resources.
  • Participate in regular training reviews.
  • Report on progress to plan.
  • Deputize for production training peers, if required.
  • Implement other tasks given by Line Manager within own competence.
  • POSITION KEY REQUIREMENTS

  • Has good mine operational experience. Has worked in open cut mining. Proven experience running teams on heavy mining equipment.
  • Able to run weekly and monthly schedules and budgets.

    Relevant practical experience in the training of mine equipment operators.

  • Experience in ERP systems, such as Oracle
  • Higher (or postgraduate) education according to the specialty and work experience in the specialty not less than 5 years.
  • Applicant must come from a modern mining background having run a professional team of trainers. Must be able to mentor and develop the Mine Trainers to a high standard.
