Role Summary :

Baker Hughes, a GE Company has a new opportunity for an Upstream Chemicals Business Development Manager (UC BDM) to join our team in Kazakhstan.

Reporting directly into the Region Sales Manager, and with responsibility to the Caspian Operations Manager, the role is to :

create and develop client relationships and pursue sales opportunities

identify and initiate internal business improvement projects

identify and co-ordinate technology and service improvement projects

coordination of delivering new technology to the market place

help set the direction for R&D within the country

explore opportunities for company to target future O&G developments

Essential Responsibilities :

Coordination of in country Marketing and sales presence at conferences

Identification and development of new project opportunities

Positioning of company for future projects

Responsible for HSE, ensuring full compliance with all company standards

Monitors progress of job(s) or project(s)

Management of technical projects and chemical trials

Provides some technical guidance, work direction and coaching to operational and field staff

Handles special projects, as assigned

Qualifications / Requirements :

Degree qualified or equivalent. Preferably in Chemistry or similar science

Extensive experience of working in production chemicals / oilfield chemistry in Kazakhstan / Caspian area

Skilled in the use of Microsoft Office packages, particularly word, excel and PowerPoint

Awareness of chemical hazards and general health, safety, environment and welfare considerations

Fluent in Russian and English

Experience of

Knowledge of SAP

Works independently under general supervision

Ability to occasionally perform offshore Chemical Trials

Ability to use skills, knowledge and techniques in problem recognition and solution development

Communication skills, both verbal and written

Well Organized and methodical approach to problem solving

Skills in motivating, mentoring, developing and coaching individuals

Analytical and Problem solving skills

Strong abilities in Project planning & Report writing

Skilled in identifying process improvements

Diplomacy and negotiating skills

Ability to work safely and ensure others work safely
