Overview / Responsibilities
Wood (trading locally as WOOD KSS JSC) is currently recruiting for a Principal Mechanical Engineer (temporary) with extensive experience in the oil and gas petrochemical industry (KZ passport holders).
Responsibilities :
Provide technical expertise, and technical review capabilities in the area mechanical engineering which includes static and Packaged equipments for oil and gas projects and operations
Supervise and deliver mechanical discipline development engineering and detail design services in a team environment primarily within the WoodKSS
Accountable for delivering Mechanical work scopes in accordance with the agreed work plans and schedules
To co-ordinate required Engineering deliverables; Liaise with other disciplines
Responsible for design and engineering services relating to mechanical equipment such as pressure vessels, atmospheric storage tanks, fired and unfired heat transfer equipment, utility equipment, packaged units, material handling, and solids processing systems.
May also include but not limited to design, specification, selection and services of mechanical systems for buildings such as gases, fluids, and heating, ventilating, air conditioning and vertical transportation
Assist in the preparation of CTR's and man-hour estimates via the company Management System
Prepare technical deliverables in a competent and professional manner in accordance with company procedures
Ensure work is completed on Schedule and within budget
Ensure project deliverables are generated via the company Management system
Review and check the work of the junior engineers working in the project
Liaise with other disciplines on design, construction, fabrication and commissioning issues
Provide engineering and technical direction for design personnel
Be familiar with the company HSE Operating System and Policy
Review and comment on vendor information and assist with inspection and testing
Carry out single and inter-discipline checks and reviews
Attend meetings as and when required
Carry out onshore survey and answer site queries
Assist procurement and project engineering personnel in the procurement of equipment and materials
Skills / Qualifications
Mechanical Engineering degree
Minimum of 10 years diversified experience in oil and gas engineering and project delivery
Fully conversant with local regulatory environment, and national industry standards and specifications
