Business Need / Purpose of Role

The Rubber Liner Supervisor is responsible for safety, quality, lining documentation and training of rubber liners. This role will require coordination between the Service Centre Manager and client with the objective of meeting rubber lining requirements in a timely manner.

Objectives & Measurement - Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure that the Quality Standards are maintained through the the training of personnel and products produced comply with the accepted Weir Minerals (Linatex), ISO standards and in particular the ISO9001 standard.
  • Responsible for the training need analysis of rubber liner employees and the delivery of required training and procedures to ensure effective training and team development occurs to optimise employees’ full potential, while working as a team to meet the company objectives.
  • This will mean the potential to multiskill all employees across the lining business.

  • Oversee training and procedural changes to focus on lean principals and minimisation of rework and waste.
  • Take a lead role in national BP (best practice) for rubber lining and hose.
  • Maintaining the paperwork associated with the rubber liner competency training and adherence to Weir rubber lining standards.
  • Participate in the short, medium- and long-term planning of operational issues to ensure training of personnel meet the business production plans.
  • Maintenance of the national rubber liners list for inductions and skill sets.
  • Job Knowledge / Education and Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience
  • Understanding of Climatic / Environmental conditions
  • Pattern making skills
  • Understanding of the principals of adhesion
  • Knowledge of the various rubber lining standards
  • Ability to train others
  • Able to carry out the various QA testing
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings
  • Language Skills :

    Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.

    Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.

    Mathematical Skills :

    Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.

    Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

    Regional Specific Job Information (if applicable)

    Reasoning Ability :

    Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

    Computer Skills :

    Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Office Suite.

    Certificates, Licenses :

    Confined space, Working at Heights, Forklift, EWP and others as required in Kazakhstan.
