Overview / Responsibilities

Wood (trading locally as JSC WOOD KSS) is currently recruiting for a Project Controls Manager with extensive experience in the oil and gas petrochemical industry (for KZ passport holders).

Responsibilities :

  • The PCM will liaise with other management team members and senior client personnel on a daily basis and will ensure JSC obligations and client expectations are met
  • Responsible for managing and leading a large team of project control resources in support of project delivery excellence
  • Primary focal point for the Project Manager / Director, Client and Project Team for all matters relating to project estimates, budget, forecast, costs, schedules, risk and resources requirements
  • Ensure compliance Wood corporate processes and procedures and responsible for development of project specific processes to meet contract / client requirements
  • Management, Provision and Coordination of all Project Controls activities including Planning, Cost Management, Estimating and Change Control
  • Ensure the contract Project Controls requirements are identified, understood and communicated to the project controls team
  • Active participation in the project risk process; risk workshops facilitation
  • Management of the Project change control process and ownership of project change registers to ensure all identified changes are analysed, quantified, communicated and monitored
  • Responsible for the provision of project cost reports and the project cost function
  • Responsible for the provision of planning, scheduling and progress reports and the project planning function
  • Responsible for the provision of project estimates and the project estimating function
  • Ensure Performance measurement is actively rolled out and implemented across all functions within the Project Controls Team
  • responsible for assessing effectiveness of current procedures with a view to continuously improving systems, personal and team performance
  • Management and development of the project controls team; strong commitment to day-to-day knowledge sharing, team upskill and clear succession planning
  • Ensure alignment with JSC Core Values
  • Ensure compliance with JSC Corporate policies
  • Ensure accurate and timely delivery of all contract specific requirements related to project controls
  • Maintain resource portfolio in support of known and forecast project demands
  • Validate accuracy and completeness of assignment / project performance management progress
  • Ensure competency & quality and accuracy of project assignment reporting process
  • Audit participation in accordance with the contract & corporate audit plans
  • Demonstrate effective implementation of assigned actions
  • Succession plan in place / progressed and up to date including development plans and resource forecast plan in support of known and future project demands
  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships and communicate across the business interfaces
  • Actively promote JSC HSE policy procedures and initiatives in line with Core Values
  • Prior experience in managing communications across teams of multiple cultural and ethnic backgrounds
  • Establish and maintain clear project objectives for project controls team throughout the project lifecycle
  • Engage with and promote functional & cross contract development including : networking / knowledge sharing
  • Maintain communication with respective focal points
  • Manage interfaces across functional and business boundaries
  • Communicate and co-operate with external stakeholders including : client representatives
  • Industry bodies, academia, market intelligence, relevant conferences, vendors, business acquisition and business development
  • Skills / Qualifications

  • Individual having higher (technical) education, work experience in the respective position of at least 10 years is assigned for the position of Project Controls Manager
  • Excellent understanding of Project Management principles and techniques
  • Excellent understanding of Project Controls principles and techniques
  • Role model understanding of Cost Control, Estimating, Change control, Risk analysis, Planning
  • English language level - CEFT B2 / C1 - higher independent / entry proficient
  • Must be fully conversant with manual and system based control applications and processes
