JOB DUTIES :

  • Ensure mobile equipment is maintained to a high safety, productive and reliable standard.
  • Implement efficient maintenance management of the mine equipment fleet to maximize overall availability and reliability
  • Be accountable for electric shovel and haul truck fleet, mine support equipment and operation of maintenance shops, wash bay facilities, light vehicles and other associated facilities.
  • Employ 'whole of life' maintenance strategies, sponsor continuous improvement processes including maintenance work execution efficiency indicators, root cause failure analysis, and reliability program improvement.
  • Develop and manage the annual and life-of-mine maintenance budget, directing the maintenance portion of the Mine Department Plan for establishing the long term maintenance plan and associated budgets.
  • Establish registers and such to ensure compliance with all statutory and Regulatory requirements and all site policies and procedures.
  • Ensure document workflow is maintained up to a date standard and in an orderly fashion.
  • Manage engineering activities and services across the mine site where required, including fixed asset stakeholders.
  • Establish and maintain successful relationships with OEMs, suppliers and consultants.
  • Aid in the training of personnel within own work group in order to meet the goals of the organization.
  • Establish and maintain a maintenance risk register.
  • Implement other tasks given by Line manager within own competence
  • QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE :

  • Higher (or postgraduate) education with relevant specialization.
  • At least 5 years of experience at similar managerial roles, preferably gained in the open pit-mining sector.
  • Experience with electric shovels and mine site electrical reticulation services.
  • Ability to manage capital projects as required.
  • Demonstrated experience-merging reliability with maintenance optimization.
  • Experience with the use of FMS (fleet management systems) such as Dispatch, Jigsaw or MineStar, and how to utilize such data to optimize mining operations.
  • Direct experience in developing and implementing effective maintenance planning and forecasting for all minor and major maintenance repairs, servicing, inspections and for opening and closing out Scope of Works / Work Instruction and work orders (Work Management).
  • Well rounded maintenance background, including servicing, rebuilding, technical trades, fleet (strategic) life cycle planning and budgeting.
  • Knowledge of the RoK legislative and other normative acts, methodological and other materials relating to maintenance of equipment.
  • Knowledge of the production cycle and its processes in the organization.
  • Knowledge of the basics of RoK Labor Code, HSE rules and regulations, fire safety requirements.
  • Ability to recognize unsafe and hazardous conditions
  • Solid computer skills in business software such as Microsoft Office and CMMS such as Ellipse, IDE, SAP or Pronto.
  • Demonstrated ability to make independent decisions and manage conflicting priorities.
  • Excellent communication, supervisory, coaching and interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively with people at all levels of the organization.
  • Ability to maintain composure under stressful situations and conflicting priorities while providing leadership and direction.
  • Qualification in Front Line Management, Business Administration and / or Project Management is desirable.
  • Driver's License (B category).
