RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Reporting to the Concentrator Director technical service manager sulphide plant will be responsible for providing process design input, equipment modifications, metallurgical modeling and simulation, design criteria development and provide advice in support of Capital project design and development of technical initiatives under the technical service department.
  • In addition, position is responsible for providing metallurgical input for technical development initiatives and metallurgical test campaigns.
  • Provide processing and metallurgical expertise and advice to the organization focusing mainly on project development and group wide technical initiatives.
  • Provide design input into the metallurgical design criteria for capital projects.
  • Oversee select discipline related to technical development initiatives.
  • Oversee laboratory test work and plant trial campaigns when required.
  • Develop the OHS culture among all employees and contractors in order to ensure healthy and accident-free operations.
  • Manage and coordinate process department, including the milling circuit, adjustment of process parameters of equipment, process record keeping, as well as research activities and liaison with contractors.
  • Optimize the Mill operation by leading personnel, communication and coordination with production departments, training and maintenance activities at the Concentrator;
  • through liaison with other departments, including Mining department, HR and Finance.

  • Develop support and coordination of plans, budgeting and Concentrator schedules. Manage fulfillment of short-term and long-term schedules.
  • Ensure proper record keeping of technological process in accordance with standards.
  • Ensure the results of the laboratory activities comply with ISO standards.
  • Implement best work practices aiming to achieve the highest work standards, effectiveness and cost reduction of reagents and consumables.
  • Mentor subordinates to work as a team in order to ensure effective communication with operations, maintenance and other departments.
  • Identify, implement and support systems, training and standards related to concentration management.
  • Ensure timely and effective communication with Concentrator personnel, Management and other groups as necessary. This liaison includes having senior managers meetings, reporting required by senior management, scheduled coordination meetings with operations, maintenance and other departments as necessary.
  • Ensure lab superintendent is leading the team of Technicians and Laboratory employees in order to ensure efficiency of their work and provision of required services with account of budget restrictions.
  • Together with the team, develop and implement the Department's regulations, tasks and procedures.
  • Supervise Chief Metallurgist’ activities including preparation of works schedules, job descriptions, as well as distribution of special functions and tasks.
  • Select, train and contribute to professional development of promising employees, paying special attention to those employees who have traits for career advancement.
  • Manage and teach key subordinates so that they complete production tasks.
  • Implement other tasks given by Line manager within own competence.
  • Mentor your successor through succession plan.
  • REQUIREMENTS

  • Higher (or postgraduate) education in the corresponding specialty and work experience in the specialty at least 5 years of experience in a similar managerial position in mineral processing or metallurgy, preferably at copper concentrators with high throughput.
  • Experience of concentrator management as a technical service manager.
  • Direct experience of non-ferrous metal flotation; work in or management of solvent extraction / electrowinning facility will be an advantage.
  • Excellent PC skills, knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Power Point, Project, Visio, Outlook, etc.), as well as ERP systems, such as : Eclipse, Oracle, SAP and similar.
  • Understanding of asset management / maintenance planning software.
  • Knowledge of the RoK legislation and standards, methodological and other documentation related to the production, business and financial activities of the Company.
  • Knowledge of hierarchy, specialization and characteristics of the Company s organizational structure.
  • Knowledge of the prospects of technological, economic and social development of the industry and the Company s business plan.
  • Knowledge of the Company s production capacity and technologies.
  • Knowledge of the procedure for preparation and approval of the Company s plans for industrial and economic activities.
  • Knowledge of Company s business operations and procedures for preparation and implementation of business and financial agreements.
  • Knowledge of scientific and technical achievements in the industry and the best worldwide practices.
  • Knowledge of economics and organization of production, labour and management.
  • Basic knowledge of the RoK Labour Code, rules and standards of HSE and fire safety.
  • Skill of identification of hazards and harmful work conditions.
  • Skills in independent decision-making and skill of prioritizing.
  • Good skill in communication, management, training, as well as effective cooperation with the personnel at different levels of organization.
  • Ability to keep self-control in stressful situations.
  • Driving License (category B).
