To perform non-destructive tests on drilling and production tubular plus associated equipment in accordance with specific written procedures laid down in Weatherford quality system manuals, ensuring that all components are 100 % within prescribed procedures and established standards and meet the clients requirements and expectations.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES :
Carry out the company's resolutions, orders, instructions and other local regulatory acts, as well as the orders and instructions issued by State Inspectorate and other supervisory authorities, and the resolutions issued by the company's Health, Safety and Environment committee.
Timely complete all assigned technical and safety trainings.
Inspection of parts of complex configuration using magnetic method by fixed and portable flaw detectors directly on the unit without its removal.
Set up, calibrate and operate non-destructive testing equipment. (Black light, AC yoke, DC coil, UT wall thickness meter etc.)
Measuring UT wall thickness of metal. Detecting the presence and size of lamination zone by configured device in the range of thickness specified by NDT equipment
Determination of defects in the details of a complex configuration under the NDT inspector of higher qualification.
Preparation of magnetic suspensions. Logging
Checking the depth gauge readings, checking flaw detectors, transducers
Determining the origin and extent of defects
To perform dimensional control of API (American Petroleum Institute) connection according to the DS1 standard
To perform visual examination of connection for tubing and casing
Plan, organize and perform the applicable non-destructive examinations.
Interpret and evaluate results with respect to applicable codes, standards, specifications and procedures.
Perform final classification of fitness for use according to clients specified requirements.
Prepare and report results correctly.
Prepare written instructions.
Perform Quality Control checks on inspection and testing performance.
Manage and train 2, 1 st Level Inspectors and trainee
To report any unsafe conditions or acts to the Supervisor.
Ensure that work assignments are performed in accordance with approved plans, schedules and programs.
Provide technically correct operation of equipment and other fixed assets under responsibility of the department.
Follow up on annual and monthly schedules of preventive maintenance and equipment diagnostics schedules.
Ensure that production facilities and equipment is operated in strict compliance with approved production procedures, operating modes and rules.
Secondary professional (technical) education and work experience in this position not less than 2years.
Must have valid certification :
UT Ultrasonic Testing
MT (MPI) Magnetic Particle Inspection
PT (LPI) Penetrant Testing, (Liquid Penetrant Inspection)
Good eyesight (near vision acuity ) and colour vision
Level 3 standards competency, not less than 2 year work experience
Skills / Knowledge
Must know the working principle of magnetic, electromagnetic, ultrasonic flaw detectors, angle and direct transducers; pupose of flaw detectors operating control;
the basics of electrical engineering; the purpose and properties of the magnetic suspension components; specifications of magnetization and demagnetization;
method for determining the thickness and lamination of metals; main types of waves; methods of excitation of ultrasonic waves and provision of acoustic contact;
types of defects, types of welds; the requirements for testing surface; the value of the magnetic and electromagnetic inspection
Must have demonstrated an ability to effectively and safely utilize dedicated resources.
Preferable have good communication skills, both verbal and written.
