The Design Leader (DL) is responsible of the lot he is assigned to under the functional responsibility of the Technical Leader (TL).
He specifies the technical solution according to the customer requirements linked with the offer and validates the technical choices throughout the project and compliance of the final solution.
General mission as team player :
Internal Relations :
o With the team to organize the studies and their implementation to ensure the achievement of the lot of the project.
o With the service purchasing and supply chain for the definition of materials, subcontracted work and monitoring of technical documents of contractors / suppliers.
o With the Technical Leader to define the batch input data for the project and provide the progress of the batch from which it is responsible for : planning, costs, delays, deviations.
o With other DLs to share and communicate on work progress and interfaces.
o With all the technical function for the accumulation of experience, the reuse of existing tools.
o With the team methods / tools to help improve business methods.
External relations :
o With the customer upon request of the Technical Leader only (direct communication with the Customer in small projects)
o With the equipment suppliers and subcontractors for the Study of the need to specify and verify the adequacy of the supply specifications on time, with the quality and the economic level required.
Specific mission on the project :
Ensure technical conformity with the contract of his Working Package (WP).
Provide knowledge and practice in MV and LV equipment.
Coordinate and follow project tasks of his WP as per schedule.
Define required inputs (including due date) to perform the WP tasks and outputs of his WP.
Deliver all documentation and required input related to his WP in timely manner.
Provide interdisciplinary review to other WP's, to which his WP may have impact on.
Ensure Supplier follow-up :
Ensure coordination with Supplier according to projects requirements.
Provide all required input to Supplier, needed for his activity on the project.
Collect, review, comment, prepare for issuance to Customer all documentation related to his WP.
Check progress status of Supplier and ensure its match with the Supplier's commitments and the project's requirements.
Ensure coordination of Supplier's schedule.
Participate on / lead meetings with Supplier on regularly basis, depending on project needs.
Be Schneider representative during Pre-Inspection Meetings with Supplier and Customer.
Be Schneider representative during WP FAT.
Ensure follow up of claims towards Supplier.
Anticipate potential issues and propose preventive action plans to be implemented.
Organize and schedule the workload with input from TL.
Report to TL in terms of overall technical solution, interfaces with other WP's, workload, schedule, risks, opportunities.
Schedule Design Review on document produced by SE (including documents for supplier).
Make the design of the low voltage switchboard (specification, drawings)
Make all project required calculation (short circuit, CT calculation, etc.)
