Overview / Responsibilities
Wood (trading locally as PSNK) is currently looking for a Structural Construction Engineer to join our team in Aktau. We are looking for candidates with the drive and commitment to make a genuine difference to our performance to ensure that the company continues to differentiate itself from competitors by delivering quality projects to our client’s requirements.
The RIE Construction Engineer is responsible for overseeing, and reporting MAC (site) work scopes relating to the fabrication / build including the integration and providing assistance during testing of MAC equipment relating to the Remote Instrument Enclosures.
The RIE Fabrication Engineers will be resident at the RIE Vendor and be responsible for :
Compliance with all site HSE, and safety initiatives, acting accordingly if an unsafe act or condition is witnessed, and report any safety issues or concerns immediately through the Fabrication and Integration Manager, and or the Vendor at site.
Monitoring all activities and progress on the shop floor, and coordinating all / any interface items / issues with Fabrication and Integration Manager and the Vendor, relating to but not limited to material management, fabrication / build, pre commissioning and testing activities..
Supporting MAC logistics warehouse services with checking all MAC responsible materials arriving at site, ensuring they are checked, preserved, stored, unpackaged according to vendor required specifications.
Reviewing and report accordingly on RIE fabrication / build plan at site. This includes assisting the Fabrication Planner with updates to the fabrication plan and schedule for periodic issue.
Supporting MAC RIE equipment integration, testing, delivery, and coordinating and assisting all MAC responsible vendors at site.
Review, assist and provide input to Vendors schedule.
Highlight and discuss any changes required / requested to Engineering during fabrication / build phase, prior to fabricator implementing any change at site.
MAC Engineering approval through the RFI process will be required for any / all changes.
Support MAC engineering with the Vendor / MAC technical query register ensuring the Engineering team provides timely responses back to the Vendor.
Monitor site copy of all discipline issued engineering / design drawings for all RIE’s, including any accuracy of red line mark ups from site, and distribute accordingly as per project engineering procedures / distribution.
Assist the Quality / Certification (Material) / Inspection Lead, and Certification and Compliance Inspector with site inspections, and management of certification, registers at site, but not limited to, as required.
Oversee all structural, Architectural, HVAC and associated lifting / rigging work activities of the contractor and or their subcontractors to ensure all mechanical work is completed and tested in accordance with project specifications, drawings, and construction practices.
Provide assistance with :
Coordination of vendor QA Audits
Coordination of QC Inspections.
Coordination of HES Audits.
Coordination welding Inspection Audits.
Assist and mentor any Kazakh Engineer personnel / support activities at site.
Skills / Qualifications
Technical qualification in relevant engineering subject.
5-10 years experience in Fabrication, construction and Commissioning sites
Good communications skills in spoken and written English language.
