Senior Civil/Structural Engineer - Expression of Interest

Overview / Responsibilities

Wood is currently looking for a Senior Civil / Structural Engineer to join our team in Atyrau. We are looking for candidates with the drive and commitment to make a genuine difference to our performance to ensure that the company continues to differentiate itself from competitors by delivering quality projects to our client’s requirements.

With minimum supervision, performs calculations and guides designers in developing drawings in conformance with project specifications, scope of work, design parameters, codes, and industry practices.

Responsibilities :

  • Attends design meetings and communicates effectively with members of Civil / Structural Group and other disciplines to understand design requirements, limitations and optimizations
  • Applies Safety in Design Requirements as per Client and Kazakh standards and codes
  • Performs computer aided and manual calculations for steel and concrete structures as well as concrete foundations
  • Prepares Calculation Reports including steel connection design and concrete reinforcement design as per Kazakh codes and standards
  • Provides designers with sketches and guides them through detailing of structures
  • Checks Material Take-offs (MTO) prepared by designers
  • Supervises drafters in completing quality deliverables within time and budget
  • Checks design drawings generated by drafters against SNIP and GOST requirements.

    • Skills / Qualifications

  • Undergraduate degree / Diploma (with Honours) in Civil / Structural Engineering
  • 10 years demonstrable experience in Civil / Structural Engineering
  • 2D AutoCad or Microstation
  • 3D Cad (Optional)
  • Lira or STAAD Pro
  • Good communications essential - Be a team player with proven oral and written communication skills who can effectively inter-relate with team members and clients
  • Good English level preferred
