Senior Instrument Engineer - Expression of Interest

Overview / Responsibilities

Wood is currently looking for a Senior Instrument Engineer to join our team in Atyrau. We are looking for candidates with the drive and commitment to make a genuine difference to our performance to ensure that the company continues to differentiate itself from competitors by delivering quality projects to our client’s requirements.

Responsibilities :

  • Responsible for design, specification and services related to control systems including basic process control systems, safety systems, control panels, analyzer systems, telecommunications, field instrumentation, and valves
  • Under direct supervision, independently evaluates, selects, and applies standard engineering techniques, procedures, and criteria, using judgment in making minor adaptations and modifications
  • With additional experience within one functional area, assists in the design of larger and more complex assignments which involve conventional types of plans, investigations and surveys with relatively few complex features for which there are precedents
  • Job tasks, correctly performed, impact indirectly on cost containment, efficiency, profitability or operations
  • Assignments usually include one or more of the following :
  • Preparation of manhour estimates
  • Progress reporting and planning
  • Specification and procurement of field instrument actuated valves
  • Preparation of construction scopes of work
  • Provide technical direction for instrument designers

    • Skills / Qualifications

  • Degree in Instrument Engineering
  • Minimum 5 to 7 years after graduation (Engineer)
  • Minimum 5 years in consultancy or similar role in the recent past
  • Versed with national / international standards
  • Instrument selection, sizing
  • Datasheet preparation & checking for various instruments
  • Proficiency in MS office
  • Adherence to quality procedures
