Job Description

Primary objectives of the function are as follows:

1. participation in planning and development of the annual research budget (financed by Ministry of Education and Science, «Oak Ridge Associated Universities» ORAU consortium);

2. monitoring the development of the research budget of the School, preparation and submission of monthly reports on the development of the research budget of the School (financed by Ministry of Education and Science, «Oak Ridge Associated Universities» ORAU consortium);

3. maintenance and assistance in the organization of external grant financing;

4. rendering consulting and information support to the teaching staff concerning budgeting and other issues within the scope of the competence;

5. participation in the development and implementation of the operational plan of the School;

6. preparation of materials for the conclusion of contracts, monitoring of the deadlines for the execution of contractual obligations concluded with third parties and financed by the School’s budget for research activities;

7. participation in preparation of financial reports for internal and external audit (if necessary);

8. assistance in adaptation of a new faculty members together with responsible structural divisions of the University;

9. interaction with structural divisions of the University in submission of reports and data when the need arises.


- specialist or bachelor’s degree in at least one of the following areas: Economics, finance, management;

- At least 1 year of work experience in the areas corresponding to functional areas of this position;

- Experience of working within higher education;

- Excellent IT skills;

- Good oral and written communication skills;

- Good presentation skills;

- Good level of numeracy;

- Effective networking skills;

- Ability to work independently, as well as part of a team, and to handle simultaneously a wide range of tasks;

- Fluency in Kazakh, Russian, English (oral and writing skills) languages.
