Senior Civil/Structural Designer - Expression of Interest

Overview / Responsibilities

Wood is currently looking for a Senior Civil / Structural Designer to join our team in Atyrau. We are looking for candidates with the drive and commitment to make a genuine difference to our performance to ensure that the company continues to differentiate itself from competitors by delivering quality projects to our client’s requirements.

With minimum supervision, designs and develops drawings in conformance with project specifications, scope of work, design parameters, codes, and industry practices

Responsibilities :

  • Communicating effectively with members of Civil / Structural Group and other disciplines to understand design requirements, limitations and optimizations
  • Appling Safety in Design Requirements as per NCOC and Kazakh standards and codes
  • Performing 3D Modelling of Steel and Concrete Structures above and below ground
  • Extracting drawing model and prepares deliverables in accordance to project specifications and local codes
  • Preparing Material Take-offs (MTO) from model and manually
  • Checking, back checking, and correcting drawings prepared by other designers

    • Skills / Qualifications

  • Civil / Structural Engineering Degree or Diploma from Accredited University or Institute
  • Minimum 7 years of Experience in Design of Industrial Structures.
  • Fundamental understanding of Concrete Foundations, Concrete and Steel Structures
  • Knowledge of relevant Kazakh standards (GOST and SNIPs)
  • Experience in producing drawings using views extracted from the 3D model (AutoCAD 3D is acceptable)
  • Effective communicator with work experience on large or international projects
  • Professional English level preferable
  • AUTOCAD or Microstation
  • Modelling experience (SP, PDMS or PDS)
  • Reinforced Concrete GA’s and RC Detailing
  • Structural Steelwork GA’s and Detailing
  • Roads, paving, drainage detailing (Optional)
