Overview / Responsibilities
Job Accountabilities :
Generating and reviewing realistic evaluations of the earth’s subsurface for development planning purposes through effective integration of multiple subsurface datasets and geological concepts
Performing integrated subsurface interpretation in support of field development planning, well planning, well drilling, and post-drill analysis
Providing geoscience support for development planning-related Regulatory / Permitting documentation needs
Contributing to the development of pre-drill well proposal documentation and post-drill well results documentation as required by RoK authorities
Representing geoscience aspects of NCSPSA field development evaluation and planning to various RoK regulatory and permitting authorities, as appropriate
Maintaining an open dialogue with Houston, Atyrau and Astana drilling and engineering personnel to facilitate the safe, efficient execution of development drilling programs
Supporting the compilation and distribution of field reports (e.g., TEOKIS, well reports, study results) to appropriate parties in a timely fashion Level I :
Usually works with minimum supervision, conferring with superior on unusual matters;
Maybe assisted by entry / junior or Intermediate level personnel;
Assignment are broad in nature, usually requiring originality and ingenuity;
Has appreciable latitude for unreviewed action or decision;
Skills / Qualifications
University Degree in Geology or Geophysics
5 years in the petroleum industry, with oil & gas field operations (subsurface)
Substantial integrated geoscience interpretation skills (well and seismic-based)
Experience in field development planning
A basic knowledge of sedimentology, especially conceptual facies models
Understanding of sequence stratigraphic concepts & interpretation
Experience in reservoir mapping and characterization (environment of deposition, reservoir geometry, porosity, saturation)
Working knowledge of geophysics
Working knowledge of overall drilling practices
Working knowledge of conventional core acquisition and description
Familiarity with wire line logging techniques and interpretation
Ability to generate pre-drill and post-drill analyses and documentation
A basic understanding of reservoir engineering
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Powerpoint)
Communication skills, including a good command of the English languageThis position only for ( Kazkh holder passport)
